Peewee Blazers take GOLD at Nanaimo Fastpitch Tournament!

The Alberni Valley Peewee Blazers are awarded the Gold Medal after coming back on Sunday to a double knockout format seeded fourth.  The undeated top seed Cordova Bay Black Out fell short to the Alberni Valley Blazers in a 10:30am game by a score of 5-2. Aggressive base running and solid defence proved to be the key to the blazers success.  The Blazers then moved to a back to back semi-final game at 12:30pm to face the host team, Nanaimo Diamonds.  In a game where Blazers' pitcher Kaylyn Snow recorded 11 strikeouts, and gave up only 3 hits,  the Blazers lead the Diamonds in runs with a 4-3 victory advancing them straight into the final.  In the Final Game of the day at 4:30pm, The blazers demonstrated their strong defensive skills once again and shut out the Cordova Bay Black Out by a score of 6-0. Congratulations Blazers! Great Team work by all.  The peewee Blazers were set to meet the Cordova Bay Black out in the Final Game of the Pewee Power Tournament hosted by Alberni previously, however heavy Rain fall cancelled the final game of the tournament leaving both teams anticipating their next meet.  Way to Go Blazers for a  "GOLDEN" weekend of Softball!
